The Fortcryl 8270, due to its good adhesiveness, cohesion and tack, is especially indicated as self-adhesive “P.S.A.” mainly in the manufacture of paper labels or polyleucine films. In general the film obtained with Fortcryl 8270 is transparent and slightly yellowish. It also features the following
characteristics: ü Excellent anchoring without “primer” on several substrates, e.g. polyester, polyethylene, pretreated polypropylene (corona treatment) or even on untreated P.V.C. ü Good water resistance. ü Smell-free. ü Good adhesion on kraft paper, metal, P.V.C. blankets etc. ü Medium adherence at low temperature ü Good aging resistance ü Good resistance to organic solvents and plasticizers, mainly to PDO / DoP (dioctyl-phthalate), widely used as a plasticizer in the manufacture of non-C-polymeric P.V. blankets. ü Good resistance to heat and ultraviolet rays. ü Good cohesion even when subjected to high souring efforts. Fortcryl 8270 based self-adhesives can be applied with the most common application systems,
such as, “direct roll”, “roll rackel”, reverse roll”, “reverse gravure” etc. The drying of the Fortcryl 8270 is fast which brings as high speed machine advantage. In the development of self-adhesives “P.S.A.” based on Fortcryl 8270, prior testing should be done, as it is compatible with other components of the recipe and the interaction with other materials such as tackifiers, wetting and defoamers etc. is influenced by many conditions which are impossible for us to predict, even with our experience.
