SanitizingAcrylic Emulsion

FORTCRYL 2033

  • Description

Fortcryl 2033 is a metallized acrylic-styrene copolymer recommended for use in self-gloss liquid wax formulations for home or institutional use. Due to its low particle size and its balanced monomeric composition, the product gives the waxes formulated with it good gloss, good resistance to trampling (therefore, good durability even with heavy traffic), good resistance to water and neutral cleaning products, thus requiring little maintenance. Due to the high temperature of film formation of Fortcryl 2033 (ca 75º C), when the elaboration of these waxes called self-gloss, it is necessary to use coalescent of the type ethyldiglycol/methyldiglycol and tributoxietilphosphate. It is also recommended to use an aqueous polyethylene or polypropylene emulsion to improve the non-slip effect. To improve the self-leveling capacity of these waxes manufactured with Fortcryl 2033, it is recommended to use small amounts of a fluorinated tensoactive. It is also recommended to use a biocide for preservation of wax both on the shelf as well as after its application. Due to its low content of residual monomers, Fortcryl 2033 does not interfere with the essences normally used in these waxes, but we recommend previous tests including stability. For the development of auto gloss waxes as well as related products with Fortcryl 2033, necessary support and suggestions of formulas, as well as adaptation of raw materials and evaluation processes, please contact the technical department of Oswaldo Cruz.
